WEIGHT-APPROPRIATELY |
However
happy we are with our looks, it seems we are never satisfied and always want to
look or appear slimmer.
For overweight people, when you take the time to learn how to look good, you start
feeling so good about your image that it gives you the incentive to lose weight
and look even better! One can always use fashion tips to help you look slimmer
and sleeker. When it comes to choosing clothing, the two most important factors
are comfort and looking slimmer.
You can try out a few fashion tricks to look trimmer just by dressing appropriately.
Dress code for Women with a Few Extra Pounds
If you are a woman on the heavier side, stop obsessing about the negative and
losing heart. Do not allow your size to affect your psyche. Be confident, keep
the right attitude and wear for the right kind of clothing for your physique.
Choose dresses with high empire waists - they are help to cover up trouble spots
like the hips and tummy. Don't go in for pleated skirts and floor-length skirts
will make you look shorter. Skirts make a person look slimmer when they fall
close to the body, and are longer than they are wide, providing maximum length.
Don't use a lot of ruffles, appliqués, etc. The simpler the better as
a cleaner line makes you look slimmer.
Try wearing suits rather than dresses as suits make you look smart without
emphasizing specific parts of the body. Pants are more slimming than long skirts
because long skirts seem to cut you in two. It has been seen that the more lines
and seams your dress has, the less attention is drawn to the areas you want
to keep hidden.
And if you are a denim freak, then choose the straight legged ones. It does
not draw too much attention to your shape and it can also be re-hemmed and shortened
without destroying the shape of the denims. Keep off baggy jeans completely
as they tend to make you look bigger. Keep away from a tapered leg that would
draw attention to hips and thighs.
For Men Who Are Overweight
Well, if ladies who are plump face problems, it is not "hunky-dory"
for the guys who suffer from similar problems. So, once again the right thing
to do is to opt for a dress code that will make you look smarter.
Be very careful about the fit of your trouser. Very tight or baggy trousers
are best avoided. Also, don't go in for pleated pants as they instantly add
weight to your body. Boot cut jeans, and jeans with a slight flare, are going
to be flattering on every body type. If your belly sticks out, consider wearing
suspenders under your blazer, thereby removing the spotlight from your tummy.
Try to avoid cuffed pants if you are short, as they tend to make short legs
look even shorter.
