  DRESSING WEIGHT-APPROPRIATELY

As far as the shirt is concerned, wear the right size. And until and unless, you are in dire straits, avoid baggy shirts. When you are wearing a collared shirt, choose the collar style according to face shape and neck length such as angular collars suit round faced men while long narrow faces look better with wider collars.
Keep detailing small. Avoid breast pockets, huge buttons, collars, pockets, flower pins and bulky collars, as they add pounds. A larger person can wear larger accessories than a smaller person.
Too big or too small is a no-no. Avoid skintight clothes, which cling to you and emphasize your body. Clothes should skim and contour your body, not cling to it.
Colors, textures and patterns to look slim
Try to avoid wearing large patterns or prints. If you do have to wear prints, it should be simple and a small textured pattern. Larger prints and texture creates an image of a larger body!

Wear skinny diagonal stripes, which create a vertical outline as opposed to a horizontal outline for your body. A V-neck on a sweater elongates your neck; the skinnier the stripe, the thinner and taller you will look.
Dress in black - it works all the time. If you absolutely have to choose some other color, then go for navy blue, dark purple or brown. Lighter colors should be avoided. Its better to wear solid colors. Or pants with tunic tops, which are highly slimming. The more you stick to one color, monochromatic dressing, the less you break up the body.
Choose your pantsuits in one solid color or dark muted colors, such as burgundy, black, navy blue, etc.
It is always a prudent idea to wear dark colored clothing over lighter shades. Wear small prints and vertical lined clothes as they make you look slim.
As for clothing material, then it is best to pick chiffon and georgette ones. Avoid cotton as they make you look plumper. Also avoid skintight materials that tend to stick to you and highlight your shape.
Try to stay away from shiny clothes, as they tend to reflect light and make you look larger.
Thus following the basics can enhance the appearance of just about everyone. Just by following a few basic rules and dressing appropriately, everybody can look slimmer and taller instantly. One can look elegant and slim at the same time.
