Elderly
people require less exercise than the younger ones.
As we become less active with age we need to maintain our mobility to perform
various activities of our daily life. Age should not be a limiting factor as
far as exercises is concerned. Only you should determine your level of activity
depending on how fit you are. It is best to consult a specialist to find out
what type of activity is just right for you.
It is dangerous to start exercising at a later age if you have not worked
out when young.
Many people believe that it is too late to start exercising. But the fact is
that you are never too old to start and you can enjoy the benefits of exercising
at about any age. Whether you are already out of shape or suffering from a chronic
disease, this should not deter you from working out. Some amount of exercise
is beneficial for all types of people. Once you see the difference you will
be motivated to work out yourself. For example you are suffering from arthritis
and think that it is not possible for you to exercise. But remember exercise
will reduce your pain and improve your flexibility. Of course consult a specialist
before you start and start slowly.
You must use the latest and most expensive equipments to exercise.
Although a lot of exercising equipments are available in the market today yet
a simple set of dumbbells is still the best choice. They are cheap and target
all your core muscles. You do not even have to join a gym and can use them effectively
in the privacy of your own home.
Weight gain is genetic.
Weight gain is slightly an inherited factor. But that does not mean if your
parents are overweight then you, too should sit back with the idea that no amount
of exercising will help you lose those extra pounds. Other factors like lack
of exercises and overeating all lead to weight gain. So if you plan a regular
fitness program and a proper diet you can of course maintain a healthy weight.
